The elderly's living room (Longyou Village activity hut) Hollowing out is a common problem facing rural China today, with young people leaving their homes and the elderly left behind. However, these remaining elders create a unique landscape in the countryside. After field research, we selected a site at the junction of a natural village and farmland, along a small path used by villagers daily. We transformed a marginal plot of land, once used for garbage and waste disposal, into a space for seniors. We hope to transform this area into a space for communication and gathering, and a window to showcase rural culture. It serves as both a commemoration of a simple and down-to-earth life and a reflection on the phenomenon of hollowing out.
